When I started creating the series of glass mandalas, I initially focused on medium formats. I learned to weave a macrame frame from jute twine. Forest walks began to provide me with new ideas for details for the glass mandalas. You can find more about this project within the realm of recycling art here: GLASS MANDALAS. And in the shop, you can see those that are waiting for a new home. Over time, I felt the need to try something different. And so, I created the Traveler, my personal glass mandala, which I can now take with me everywhere. There are so many places to discover and revisit. So now I invite you on a journey that began from the closest surroundings…

Glass Mandala in Oxford

Contact with nature calms me, relaxes me, and helps me find my balance. I especially appreciate forest bathing in the spring. I love experiencing life waking up again. I am always delighted to see young shoots on trees or new flowers blooming. Nature is very generous with its gifts, not only in spring. After all, it has something special to offer in every season. Sometimes, it is so hard to resist its charm that I reach for my camera and capture these moments, which, as you can see, bring a lot of joy to my companion.

But Oxford is, first and foremost, a city. When I need to, I can always go out and meet people, visit an exhibition, or admire the architectural forests of pinnacles. However, what pleases me most is the numerous opportunities for accessing nature.

Glass Mandala in Poland – Kielce Region

At least once a year, I try to fly to Poland, where I have family and friends. It’s always good to return and enjoy this time together. But Poland is also full of wonderful places, beautiful nature, and cherished memories. I was born in Kielce, and that’s where most of my family lives, so it’s no wonder I go back there most often.

There are many places worth seeing. Sometimes, it’s enough to leave the house and start walking. You can travel by car, bus, or train; it all depends on your choice to set out. And sometimes, it’s not the destination that matters, but the journey itself and what it has to show us.

Glass Mandala in Poland – Strzelce Krajenskie

Another town close to me, it is picturesquely situated by Upper Lake and Lower Lake. It features a preserved medieval wall, the Witches’ Tower, and the Mill Gate, where the State Music School of the 1st degree is located. This town is a record of my youth, school experiences, and first friendships. But it is also a map of my search for myself—through playing the trumpet, art classes, dancing, and scouting.

After years of absence, when you come to visit, you encounter old memories and discover a new everyday life. It’s not just us who mature and change; sometimes, I think that places are like people.

Glass Mandala in Slovenia

This country charmed me from the very first moment, probably because the mountains greeted me immediately. I have loved mountains since I was a child. When I flew to Slovenia, I felt at home, even though I had never been there before. However, this country, and especially Bled, where I stayed, had a very strong effect on me. Ever since I can remember, new places have always evoked different impressions in me—some very strong, others weaker, but I always felt something. Some places attracted me, while others immediately repelled me, and even frequent returns could not change that. Slovenia undoubtedly made the strongest positive impression on me.

In recent years, I have been drawn to nature, and it is through nature that I find rest and inner balance. I think it has always been important to me, but I probably did not fully realize it until now. I now understand that I need daily contact with nature, and living in a city can make this difficult. This is why Slovenia fascinated me so much; there, nature seems to be an inseparable part of life. Mountains can be seen even from Ljubljana, the capital. Not to mention that three-quarters of the country consists of mountain ranges and half is covered by forests. It is definitely a place I want to return to.

Glass Mandala in in the UK – Cambridge

This summer, the weather on the UK is much cooler and cloudier than it usually is at this time. However, I was very lucky because it became summery, sunny, and even hot. I decided to take a break from work and went on a short vacation to Cambridge. It’s good to change perspective and clear your mind. A wonderful meeting with a friend who hosted me. Exploring the city together. Searching for a manhole cover for the next embroidery project. Conversations with passersby interested in creating frottage. Such feedback is a great opportunity to see how others react to my art. This trip was also about showing the Traveler a new town. It particularly enjoyed the pinnacled forests of Cambridge. Yes, the architecture of this city is as charming as that of Oxford. The holidays are in full swing, and more trips are on the horizon. I can’t wait.
