Project: LETTERS by Julia Sotkiewicz, exhibition in Kielce. All the envelopes are hanging on the wall. Four by four and one dill block by three. You can see a fragment of macrame on the floor.

LISTY

Kolejny wyjazd, ponowna emigracja – podróż w głąb siebie. Zmagania z własnymi słabościami, ograniczeniami i lękami.
Pojawiają się możliwości, ale podejmowanie decyzji boli, a jest zbyt mało czasu na dogłębną analizę.
Zatem: „kto nie ryzykuje, ten nie zyskuje”. Trzeba tylko uważać, o czym się myśli, bo myśli materializują się szybciej, niż się tego spodziewamy.

Emigracja przedłuża się. Wrócić jutro? Może nigdy? Pozamykać dawne życie, podziękować, pożegnać się…

Prezentowana realizacja jest fragmentem większej całości. Moim założeniem jest kontynuacja i chęć podziękowania osobom dla mnie ważnym. Każdy z modułów (KOPERTA z imieniem) kierowany jest do konkretnego i jednocześnie anonimowego odbiorcy. Każda KOPERTA zawiera artefakty z metkami. Są to przedmioty, bezpośrednio czy też symbolicznie, przypominające o kluczowych momentach, istotnych wydarzeniach, które szczególnie intensywnie na mnie wpłynęły. Jednocześnie stają się one pretekstem do rewizji własnych podobnych doświadczeń przez odbiorców.

List intencjonalnie przeznaczony dla jednego, konkretnego odbiorcy staje się otwartą korespondencją.
Dzięki gestowi otwierania i wyjmowania zachowuje formę tradycyjnego listu w kopercie.

Dodatkowym elementem, kierowanym tylko do konkretnego odbiorcy, jest imienny WOREK przeznaczony do zabrania przez adresata.

Nie każdy adresat KOPERTY ma swój WOREK i nie każda osoba mająca WOREK ma swoją KOPERTĘ.
